Athletic Development for Musicians is back!
Led by Dr. Rachel Galvin – UCSB Music Alum, violist, personal trainer, and soon-to-be Feldenkrais® practitioner.
At least 60% of musicians will experience some kind of playing related injury during their career. Many of those injuries can be prevented with movement, exercise, and awareness. Yet, the gym can be a nerve-wracking place for a musician.
This class will help any musician who is interested in learning more about how their body moves. We will explore efficiency and self-awareness in the form of body weight exercise as well as strength training. Learn how to safely use free weights to better yourself and your playing. All ages and abilities welcome!
